Studio Brief 2
----------

We set up a meeting with Hungry Sandwich Club to ask for their advice and anecdotes about starting up their own business. It was incredibly casual. We sat in the social and had a beer, and asked them basically got to where they are now.
They started up in Duke Street after applying through the college. They had originally spent their entire third year collaborating which made the move to work in the real world easier.
Duke street shares space with other design studios, they told us that it was helpful to have older studios around for advice and guidance, which made them starting up that much easier.
They told us about clients, good and bad, and what to look out for. Certains things like asking for 50% of the payment upfront were things we hadn't considered. They gave us tops like only sends partial mocks and watercolours mocks until full payment, so we and our work were protected.
Other things like which social media they find most effective (that being Behance). But not specifically for them, but they have seen it work for other groups within Duke Studios. For them, they said word of mouth has propelled them through. This resulted in us adding Behance to social networks, which was something we never considered before.
They're successful, working with huge companies like Crabbies and BBC. They were incredibly friendly and I'm sure me and the others would love to stay in touch with them.
